My latest app development is a personal project born out of necessity.
I like to run, but it’s not the only exercise I do. When I was trying to get into better shape before my wedding earlier this year, I started to do some mini-workouts, which involved press ups, sit-ups, balance exercises, and strength training with kettle bells. I used my iPhone’s timer for certain exercises, but I soon realised that I wanted to be able to string together a few timers into one continuous activity.
That is how the idea for MyFitnessTimer arrived.
There are already apps that do this sort of thing, but I couldn’t find any that did exactly what I wanted. So, I’m going to build my own. The basic idea of the app is that an “activity” will be made up of one or more timers that run in sequence. Ideally, each timer will have audio that plays as the timer starts so as to alert the user as to what the new timer represents.
There will be more functionality, but that’s the basic premise for the first version of the app. I’ll be using this blog to document the process, with videos, art, and podcasts all featuring.
