Discbord: Day 3

Basically I’m now rich from the sales of Discbord.

Well, ok, I’m not but it’s not unexpected. I am however happy that I actually released another app, and I’ve been chuffed with some of the comments from people that have played it.

I’d planned on releasing Discbord and then checking out Lanica’s Platino SDK as an alternative to the Corona SDK I’d used to create Discbord. But now I’m thinking that Discbord deserves a little more love in the form of an update or two.

Discbord was designed around a simple mechanic that could then be applied to different variations on a theme. During development there were other game types that didn’t make the version that’s in the App Store now. The “Thief” game type was originally a variant called “Copycat”, which was the Discbord equivalent of Horse. However, it didn’t work as well as Thief and so was dropped. I also designed a number of sports versions, such as tennis and golf. These have great potential, but their complexity to code was causing development to drag on.

I’d like to create some more game types for Discbord and release them as app updates. If you think there’s a sport you’d like me to convert to Discbord let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
